July 4 - A Full Blown Blast!
We showed up at Victory Fellowship ready to do: whatever, whenever, wherever! We jumped right in and in a few minutes thousands of people were pouring in. By the end of the event, we helped with the physical and spiritual feeding of 4,300 people!
Cole (security)= guarded a boy whom people were stealing his watermelon. I feel great, perfect!
Myra (parking ministry) = made a wonderful friend today. I feel over the top good!
Nichole (first aid tent) = layed her hand on someone and blessed them. I feel joyful.
John (evangelism) = helped bring Heaven down along with an African American Choir in the music tent. I feel awesome, great, best day of the trip so far!
Sam (kids ministry) = helped keep control and learned the stories behind why the clown ladies help out every year. I feel wonderfully exhausted and happy!
Debby (Samitan's feet - footwashing and shoe ministry) - Led a homeless man, Albert, to Christ and planted lots of other seeds for Christ. It was honoring and humbling.
Kierra (kids ministry) =A long, loving day full of kids. I feel tired and exhausted.
Cheryl (kids ministry)= I connected with alot of people. An amazing experience.
Wes (cook) = I was asked to oversee the "special" pot of jambalaya and really felt included in the group of cooks!
Chris (evangelism) = Holy Spirit-led ministry can be riveting. I feel honored!
Morgan (kids ministry) = I got to give a little helper, Emily, my bracelet, and saw a servant's heart in her. I feel good.

July 3 - A Very Good Day!
We started the day with beignets (french doughnuts) at Cafe du Monde in the French Quarter. With a few hours of free time to explore, we were able to see downtown sights and enjoy the morning out.
Afternoon Vacation Bible School went very well. The shield project is nearing completion and most kids are very pleased with their designs. Of course, the kids most enjoy the love being given!
Tonight's dinner was Local Delicacy Night! We enjoyed crabs, shrimp, crawfish, catfish with etoufee sauce and lots of side dished. Local musician, Armand St. Martin, brought his keyboard and sang as we finished dinner preparations and played more after dinner! What a treat that was.
We attended the prayer rally for tomorrow's Feed the Multitude event at Victory Fellowship. After very anointed worship time, we each discerned ministries for tomorrow. Those include: children's ministry, medical tent, evangelism, Samaritan's Feet, security, cooking, and more.
It's gonna be a long, long day tomorrow!

July 2 - A Wow Day!
What a change from yesterday! Yes, we had to call 911 because a troubled boy wouldn't leave, but the rest of the day was a day of peace, love, and real connections for Christ! The VBS club went very smooth, the dinner and outreach was attended by over 45 people. There were NO fights, NO threats, just lots of laughter. At least three people gave their lives to Christ for the first time tonight. God bless everyone who prayed us through!

July 1 - A Difficult Day
Just being honest here. We had kids fighting, throwing around craft supplies and paint and lots of disrespect. We packed up a little early, then went back to home base to process and pray.
It was during a very anointed communion service that things really clicked for us about Jesus' broken body and cup of suffering. We cried, we prayed, we cried some more and hugged.
We're ready to go back tomorrow. With God's help, (and all y'all praying for us!) we can do this!

June 30th = A Very Full Day!
We started by joining a full church at Franklin Avenue Baptist Church as they celebrated Men's Weekend with a men's choir of about 70 men. After a picnic (and swim for some) on Lake Ponchetrain, we helped serve up about 300 meals to the homeless at Ozanam Inn.
We all lived the lesson of today's daily devotion, about going outside of our comfort zone!
